Waiver ~ Terms & Conditions

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. All reservations must be scheduled ahead of time. Walk-ins to Community Sauna sessions may be accommodated depending on availability. 

2. Payment in full is collected and due on-site before entering the sauna. 

3. Remove shoes before entering the hot room.

4. Please sit on a towel while in the sauna and wipe the seat and backrests when leaving the sauna to be considerate of the next guest. 

5. For community sessions, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your reservation as this allows time for paperwork, collecting payment, and reviewing safety protocol.

6. We ask that you are respectful of others, any Sauna du Nord LLC staff, our host, and the host’s property. If at any time we feel that other guests, staff, the equipment, or the space aren’t being respected, the Sauna du Nord LLC team and/or host or staff on-site can ask you to leave. If at any time we feel that equipment and rental drop will be unsafe, we will terminate the agreement. You will not be refunded the reservation fee. 

PROHIBITED SUBSTANCES/USE/ACTIVITIES 

• Be aware of the stove at all times - metal surfaces are hot and may cause burns. 

• No jewelry (may burn skin), alcohol, colored liquids that will stain if spilled, smoking, drugs, food, metal, sharp objects, or breakables (glassware or glass equivalents, ceramics).

• No Fire accelerants of any kind (propane, butane, gasoline, diesel or any other flammables) 

FIRE-STARTING/HEAT MANAGEMENT 

• Use only natural fire-starter sticks/logs, tinder, kindling, and firewood in stoves. No other fire materials are permitted in the stove.

 • Stove and surrounding surfaces are hot and can cause burns. Use gloves to lift stove access and load firewood. Surfaces include; Exterior metal stove lid and surrounding protective flashing, Interior stove surfaces and hot rocks, interior/exterior chimney flue surfaces, candle window area separating the hot room and changing room, and exhaust gasses from stove door and stove pipe.

 • Sauna interior is vented for natural air movement - if internal temperatures become uncomfortable, open the sauna door to release any excess heat. 

PRIVATE RENTAL AGREEMENT

• By signing this agreement the Renter accepts full responsibility for the care of the equipment they are renting and is responsible for any damage, beyond regular wear and tear, caused by its use. 

• The Renter agrees to pay for any damage to the equipment and to replace the equipment at full retail value if it is lost or stolen. Both the Renter and Rentee/releasee have inspected the equipment to ensure it is in good condition on the date of this agreement.

 • The Renter understands a $150 cleaning fee charged at the discretion of the Rentee/Releasee if the sauna is left in an excessive state of uncleanliness.

CANCELLATION POLICY 

• Private Mobile Sauna Rental: 2 weeks from the event: 30% cancellation fee, or re-schedule free of charge. 1 week from the event: non-refundable.

• Hourly Sessions: If you need to cancel, please let us know 24 hours prior to your reservation for a full refund. 

CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 18 AND ADDITIONAL GUESTS 

• By signing this agreement, the Renter assumes all liability and risk for additional guests who have not filled out the aforementioned forms as well as their education on safe use and best practices. 

• Minors are to be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian.

FIRE EXTINGUISHER USE 

• By signing this agreement, the undersigned agrees that they have been briefed on fire extinguisher operation using the mnemonic “PASS” (Pull pin, Aim nozzle, Squeeze the trigger, and Sweep over fire). Additionally, the use of a fire blanket is available to smother fire on any surface that can be covered with the blanket.

AGREEMENT, WAIVER, AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

1. Please consult your physician if you are in doubt about your ability to use the sauna. 

2. No guests under the age of 18 are permitted in the sauna unless accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or supervising and consenting adult. 

3. Sauna sessions should be limited to a maximum of 60 minutes at one time. Please take breaks outside of the hot room throughout your sauna session. 

4. Please discontinue the use of the sauna if you feel light-headed, dizzy, or heat-exhausted. 

5. It is recommended to drink water before, during, and after the sauna session. 

6. It is recommended to not eat at least one to two hours prior to your sauna session to avoid any ill feelings. 

7. If you have an open wound, you will not be permitted to use the sauna. 

8. Guests using any medications must consult a physician or pharmacist prior to the use of the sauna. 

9. Pregnant women should consult a physician prior to the use of the sauna. Excessive body temperatures have the potential for causing fetal damage during the early stages of pregnancy.

10. Do not use any lotions, make-up, or chemicals prior to the sauna session. These items may block pores and affect perspiration as well as stain the wood in the sauna or cause irritation to other guests. 

It is solely your responsibility to monitor your body and its reactions and determine if it is appropriate to use the sauna. You alone are responsible for your safety and well-being. 

By typing or writing your full name into the liability waiver before the purchase is completed, you acknowledge and accept the risks inherent in the use of the sauna.

I voluntarily assume the risk of injury, accident, or death which may arise from the use of the sauna. I and any of my heirs, executors, representatives, or assigns hereby release me from all claims or liabilities for personal injury or property damages of any kind sustained while on the premises, during the use of the sauna, and from any advice provided by an employee, independent contractor, or any representative of Sauna du Nord LLC. I agree that this Waiver and Terms & Conditions are in effect for all sauna sessions with Sauna du Nord LLC and will not expire unless requested by either party and understand it is my personal responsibility to consult with my doctor regarding my participation.
